…and we’ve heard it all before Lights, Camera, Action and all so-to-speaks Hatred placed in living spaces Shallow thoughts for hallow circumstance Please keep it down, we’ve got to sleep …and we’ve seen this all before it “gets too lonely with the populace” toughened lives by roughened dives A sob story for mob mentality Can we see it in your eyes? Can you seem to sympathize? One day wonder if your cart’s too full Can we see it in your eyes? I’ve got the notion that you’ll size it up And then take off because These people living on got no time For goings on. I can see it in their eyes. Matters of the heart keep on pumping Days along. I can see it in their eyes. I can see it. These “things” have families and despite you continue to grow Always keeping the soul close A place of business is never closed And we see it in your eyes And we see you sympathize Have no wonder why your cart’s not full And we see it in your eyes I’ve got the notion that you’ll size it up And then take off because These people living on got no time For goings on. I can see it in their eyes. Matters of the heart keep on pumping Days along. I can see it in their eyes.

1000 Words 03:04
This camera is shooting bullets. You aim it and you pull it. A thousand poison darts nail my heart against the wall A thousand pointed words forgotten but not unheard Glossing over all our fights with glossy black and whites Cause I’ve been pouring over photo albums, all those guys? Well you can have them. With the happiness those images convey. I will never make you feel that way every time nostalgia lies. like too much makeup on your face and eyes Like last years styles on all your girls. And the fakest fucking smiles in the world. These photos work me over and my brain works over time Filling gaps between photos before these photos became mine Will our immortal image only serve to annoy? All your future lovers pretty girls and ugly boys Cause I’ve been adding up all your subtractions pondering our interactions With all the awkwardness it takes to watch you flirt. When every pictures worth a thousand hurts.

Anthemantic 02:56
I'm just sitting down body's imprint in the couch huddled up inside, reclusive absorb all influence from obsolete sources and do without what's being fed to the sheep-like masses And I heard a sound Keeping timing with a twitch Etching notes with dead ink Chromatic Masking somber recklessness With sober recklessness All the while keeping tuned To my heartbeat

Grace 04:08
Ken crawl. Keeping all our words resorted. All stops. Only harmful when reported. It’s safe when we go outside, so then we’ll wait to go outside Innocuous. Haven-safe in light of conflict. Bright lights making brighter sides. Night lights making lighter rights. So saving face, saying grace keeps all the chins up. Revert back to second comings and our hands stay entwined Knuckles lit with fear and grit laying ourselves out on the lines Why can’t we stand? All scars rile up the uninvited. Fears are taking off like duct-taped windows. Played it safe when they came around. Made safe when they came around. Indelible. What’s illiterate for thinkers? Can’t keep from running off. Can’t stop from the running off. Told to come forth and keep wearing my fifth place ribbon. Let’s keep all smiles contained with markings on the wall and keeping all of our arms at arms length bidding fond farewell. Breaking waves. Then the chorus of chords will echo “Ah” bringing tears of laughter to the ones who followed Ah. When will we speak…?

about

This EP was recorded in the late summer of 09. We went through far too many troubles to not output such a small number of musical selections. This is nothing but a warning of what's to come from this pop punk machine disaster. Of the songs themselves we say this:

This is the kind of music you listen to when your heart is breaking but instead of crying about it you want to rock out and blow off some steam. Gentlemen Prefer Blood have created an album that could only come from seasoned musicians. Combining SoCal vocal harmonies with thoughtful lyrics, they take on life's disappointments with straight up punk rock riffs and memorable breakdowns. It's the kind of music that soothes your soul and doesn't take your problems lightly but still reminds you what it's like to have fun.
